Calling all pet owners! The likelihood your pet will survive a disaster such as a flood, fire or tornado depends largely on proper emergency planning on your part. Take action now, there are several ways to get “Petpared.”
- Build a pet emergency supply kit
- ID your pet with a collar and tag, and consider micro chipping
- Discover where you would evacuate to? Some public shelters may not accommodate animals, find out now, before a disaster hits.
- Create a buddy-system with a relative or friend to help each other’s pets during the emergency.
Once you’ve done these steps, take a selfie with you and your pet & put it in your GO|STAY|KIT.
