While storing in case of emergency (ICE) contacts in cell phones is catching on, many people password-protect their phones, making it hard for emergency responders to access data in case the person is incapacitated, and not able to respond.
To bypass this barrier, Acadian Ambulance developed the Acadian I.C.E. application, which creates an emergency contact banner on the phone’s home/lock screen. This allows emergency responders to call the In-Case-of-Emergency number to get the unlock code, so that they can unlock your phone and access your vital medical information.
The app. also lets users store data about medication, allergies and health conditions, which is also only accessible after the phone is unlocked. The app. is free for Apple and Android devices.
Let us know if you like this idea! We are thinking about creating such an App. for the GO|STAY|KIT. It would keep all your medical info in a miniature GO|STAY|KIT right inside your cell phone. [email protected]
