TAB 6: Emergency Supply “Stay-Kit”

Tab6NavTab6XFIf there is an emergency and your family must shelter-in-place, you will need basic emergency supplies to last you 72 hours (3 days). The Family GO|STAY|KIT® provides a basic EMERGENCY “STAY-KIT” checklist.

EMERGENCY SUPPLY INSTRUCTIONS

Sometimes during a natural disaster or other emergency you will be asked by authorities to stay inside your place of residence, also known as sheltering-in-place. If this occurs, you will need an emergency “STAY-KIT.”

The information and list contained in this section of the Family GO|STAY|KIT® will help you gather together all the materials that your family will need before you are asked to shelter-in-place.

For example, a family “STAY-KIT” should include one gallon of water per person per day for drinking and sanitation, as well as one extra gallon per day for pets or service animals.

In the event of a natural disaster or other emergency, the Family GO|STAY|KIT® door tag (back cover) can be placed on the entrance of your residence. It will alert emergency personal of your whereabouts, and tell them what kind of assistance you need. One side of the door tag states that you are OK; the other side shows that you need HELP.
