This is the big metal box that the disaster stuff “supplies” were in. It contains a radio, antenna, medical supplies, a portable shelter and portable stretcher, directions, disaster supplies like batteries, flashlight, other emergency prep gear.
FYI: It says Portland NET on the box. It was explained to me this way by two emergency responders…the Portland SWAT Team likes to use the word CERT instead of the name SWAT when referring to themselves. So, the Portland CERT people, have to use the word NET to refer to themselves, because who is going to argue with the SWAT Team. I mean the CERT team.
Even though everywhere else in the Country refers to emergency response folks as CERT, in Portland Ore. they are called NET. I know it’s a bit confusing.
For the uninitiated, like I was. CERT-Community Emergency Response Teams, SWAT-Special Weapons and Tactics, NET- ?
