At family preparedness seminars we’re always asked by parents, “What do the schools do if there’s an emergency situation while my child is there.” Here is some info from the principal of the recent Troutdale High School shooting.
“In the case of an emergency at one or more of our schools, PPS communicates directions to families by phone in all supported languages. We also communicate via email, text and social media. We use the family contact information provided on students’ registration forms. Please keep this information up todate in your school office.”
FYI: We normally tell parents to contact their individual schools for this type of info. Schools should hold frequent drills so that students can practice what to do in case of potential emergencies.
