Old-time being prepared 2/1/16

Besides old B&W photography, BEING PREPARED in rural America in the late 19th & early 20th century was a little different than it is today. People had “Root Cellars” where they would store vegetables along with whatever food that they “put up”. Here is an American Root Cellar from 1910.
