High waters covered roadways and prompted emergency evacuations across Texas today, after a storm system fired up once again in the Plains, bringing heavy rain and severe flooding to parts of the region. Numerous rivers in the state are heading toward historic crests, and more rain is forecast into the Memorial Day weekend.
Emergency responders told people they have 1 minute to get out of their house! Hurry! Residents were also told over the radio to get out, and get out fast! Fast rising flood waters literally trapped people in their cars, and homes.
Tornadoes that caused damage were also reported in the Lone Star State and Kansas, where twisters have been spotted for a third consecutive day.
