FEMA is now promoting what they call a “Roadmap to Resilience.” The agency wants more community disaster planning, preparedness activities, and community outreach at the state, local, tribal, and territorial levels.
However, there is no better way toward “resilience” than being prepared in the first place. When you are really prepared for an emergency situation like a natural/manmade disaster, than that makes you much further ahead when it comes time to rebuild, which is what “resilience” is all about.
Emergency Preparedness means making sure you have stockpiled some supplies, like a 72-hour Kit, or GO-BAG. And that you have your personal/family info all in once place so if you have to evacuate, you or your Family’s Go Stay Kit is filled out and nearby, so you can grab it.
