NYC Emergency Management is honored to recognize Andy Perlman, recipient of ASPCA‘s Annual Heroes in Human Services Award.
Andrew P. is a program manager of the human services unit at our agency. In the response to COVID-19, he has served as the agency representative for the Animal Planning Task Force (APTF). The mission of APTF is to coordinate response among New York City’s animal organizations to companion and service animal health and safety issues during a disaster including: search and rescue, sheltering, veterinary care, reunification, fostering and adoption.
“My role is to coordinate planning activities during steady-state and response activities during gray skies, as well as oversight of the Disaster Animal Response Plan (DARP).”
