Mandatory evacuations are underway today in a Texas town that has been practically cut off from the rest of world by floodwaters rising to record levels. The ongoing storm was aggravating flooding in major rivers, especially along the Louisiana-Texas border, with some 3,300 residents having been evacuated in Louisiana alone.
Meanwhile, the relentless rain prompted flash-flood warnings overnight and this morning in Louisiana, Missouri and Tennessee, according to the National Weather Service. Also, parts of Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana were also under flood or river warnings as of 5 a.m. today.
