Everyday Preparedness Choices 6/17/16

Fam 1Whether you’re creating a family emergency communications plan, assembling or updating emergency supplies, or accessing alerts and warnings, you should prepare something, somehow, someway. If not for yourself, than for your loved ones. Here’s a simple, basic list of how to get started. Although we’ve published this outline many times before, we’ll continue to disseminate this info ad nauseam, until we can prepare as many people as possible, we’re not giving up.

Fam 2Assemble or update a 72-hour Kit, make sure your documents and personal papers are in a safe place, i.e. the Go Stay Kit. Access alerts and warnings from the government, test out your disaster plans before an actual hazard event happens. Sit down with your neighbors and go over your plan-they may have something you don’t. Go to local emergency preparedness classes or become a CERT volunteer. The life you save may not only be your own, but once you are alive, you can take better care of your family, friends, neighbors etc. etc. etc.
