I know that in general you don’t like to think about preparing for a disaster, but a little preparation can go a long way. A good place to start would be by using Harold Hill’s famous “Think Method” applying it to emergency preparedness.
IT’S SIMPLE. Start by being aware of the natural or human-caused disasters that could happen in your area. Then, instead of getting upset or giving up… just “Think” about a plan.
Perform a “mental rehearsal” of what might happen to you or your family, like you were watching a movie. Use your imagination, so you can see what would go wrong, and more importantly what would go right if you were prepared.
