Jo Becker Weebly is offering a new, 6-week animals-in-disaster class set to start on the 29th at Portland Community College.
She needs your help — we need just a few more registrants in order for the class to go. If you would, please push this out to those you feel would be interested such as your CERT / NET graduates / teams, social media networks, and distribution lists. Urge folks to register with PCC by this weekend if they’re interested.
Details:Expanded Pet Prep. Workshop at PCC Sylvania Saturdays 7/29 – 9/2/17, 1-3:30PM
Disasters can be personal or regional; they happen to someone every day. This down to earth yet upbeat series of classes on how and why to prepare focused on your animals will dive deep into topics ranging from:
-
what supplies to gather,
-
how to store and carry them,
-
evacuation and sheltering-in-place,
-
1st aid resources, and
-
ways to survive the US’s most common and deadly disaster.
We’ll play the fun and competitive ‘Animals-In-Jeopardy’ game, practice hands-on muzzling and paw wrapping, and along the way cover ideas and resources for household pets as well as livestock. Feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks, as well as stories and questions!
